Where Can You Find The Most Reliable Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Information?
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping’s Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to get rid of mopping off their list of things to do. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you’re looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It’s smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance that I’ve ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through a clean.
It’s efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I’ve also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I’ve tested. It is quieter and doesn’t produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It’s simple to install and works well however, it’s something you’ll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This ensures an even and thorough clean and is also quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo’s DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. These include corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.
Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is a top Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a ‘Clean button’ as well as a ‘Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you’re a busy professional or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped out and robotvacuummops in and a mopping module which is equipped with microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don’t have to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate map of your floorplan that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set ‘No-Go zones’ and virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to capture a lot of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that signalled when it was starting or finishing its work.
The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app cannot store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning or recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets caught in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won’t work until you untangle it manually. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn’t have an “stuck” status alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni’s inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You’ll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn’t an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren’t cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It’s a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It’s also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxes.
